Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Medienwerkzeuge GMB Ltd (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data through medienwerkzeuge.com and in connection with your Medienwerkzeuge Studio subscription, in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Medienwerkzeuge GMB Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17086190. Registered office: Flat 1c, 1 St. Martins Close, London, United Kingdom, NW1 0HR. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact: support@medienwerkzeuge.com.

2. Data we collect

  • Enquiry data — name, business name, email, phone and the details you submit in our contact form;
  • Subscription data — where you subscribe to Medienwerkzeuge Studio: your name, email, billing address, IBAN and SEPA mandate details, plan and payment history. Your bank details are collected to set up the SEPA Direct Debit mandate for your own subscription and are transmitted to our authorised payment service provider; we do not store full payment credentials on our own systems;
  • Toolkit usage data — the count of tasks you run each day and your plan tier, used solely to enforce plan allowances. The images and files you process are never uploaded to us — the toolkit runs entirely in your browser and your file content never leaves your device;
  • Correspondence — emails and records of calls with our team;
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected via cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

3. How we use your data

  • To respond to enquiries and provide support (legitimate interests / pre-contract steps);
  • To provide the Medienwerkzeuge Studio subscription, enforce plan allowances and take payment for that subscription by SEPA Direct Debit (performance of a contract);
  • To meet legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer checks (legal obligation);
  • To administer and improve this website (legitimate interests);
  • To run optional analytics, only with your consent via the cookie banner (consent).

We do not sell personal data.

4. Sharing & transfers

We share data with service providers (hosting, email and our payment service provider) under contracts limiting their use of it, and with regulators or law enforcement where required by law. Where data is processed outside the UK/EEA we rely on adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

5. Retention & security

Enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months after our last contact. Subscription and billing records are kept for 6 years after the end of the relationship, as required for legal, tax and regulatory purposes. Data is protected in transit with TLS and access is restricted to staff who need it.

6. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you may request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data, restriction of or objection to its processing, and data portability, and you may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, email support@medienwerkzeuge.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
